Sunday, August 3rd - Slow Rolling

I had a very soft launch this morning after a very late and tipsy night. We went on a coastal tour to Howth about 30 minutes to the east of Dublin. Howth is a working fishing town on a peninsula. We took an open top bus and drove listening to the commentary of the bus driver. We learned a lot about where U2 lives and the small islands off the coast. Our first stop as at the Howth Cliffs. Here we got to get off the bus and walk the hills to see wonderful views of Dublin bay. They were not cliffs, per say, but it had beautiful views!

Our second stop was at the village. Here we got to get off the bus and walk around the town. As we walked to the restaurant we saw some seals at the inlet. Let’s be honest people were feeding them so they were there. But I wasn’t mad! We ate at Kish Fish which was a recommendation from our friend Daniel at the Ha’Penny Bridge Bar. He highly recommended the fish and chips, so Kate got that and she was impressed. I had a chicken sandwich which was also very good.

Then we walked a local market and got a cupcake. We had some time before the bus departed so we walked around the town and out to the pier. We ended the night with Murphy’s Gelato for dinner.
